How to study the populist radical right and the welfare state?

This review article and special issue introduction argues that studying the relationship between populist radical right welfare state requires bridging literatures have so far advanced with little mutual engagement: party politics voting behaviour research on one hand, comparative political economy other. In this way, highlights advantages of connecting different academic sub-fields in politics. First, literature multi-dimensionality can contribute to a clearer understanding both welfare-related causes consequences support. Second, right’s ideology provides theoretical tools explain parties.
